2011-2012 Martinettes Twirling Corps, LLC

The poem below was written by Senior Corps Member

It takes teamwork, dedication, and passion

     more than anything.

I battle the sun everyday for a long period of

     time.

I take it to the streets and gym floors.

My muscles and joints ache, letting me know

     I'm doing what I should.

But, aside from all the heat, pain, and work,

"TWIRLING IS MY LIFE."

Baton Twirlers Ten Commandments!

Written by Senior Corps Member Deidra Balchak

1.     SMILE ALWAYS!!!!!!!

2.     Never drop thy baton.

3.     If you do drop. . . . smile even bigger!

4.     Eat. Sleep.  Breathe. Twirl.

5.     We are a team, so we twirl as a team.

6.     Love your baton like you love a relative,

            maybe more!

7.     Practice makes perfect; abide by this.

8.     If you twirl you twirl right.  Even if you're

wrong, your twirling is still right!

9.     Love your team, because out there

            they're all you've got.

10.  Have fun, for in the end that's all that

            matters anyway.
